The Institute for Social Research’s program in Society, Population, and Environment (SPE) focuses on social change and social issues worldwide, with long-term programs of research in both North America and South Asia. The Society, Population, and Environment Program is organized around four themes:
- Social Organization, Social Relationships, and Social Psychology
- Population Dynamics and Family Change
- Environmental Change
- New Methods for Social Research
The Program also involves substantial educational activities at the post-doctoral, doctoral, and undergraduate levels. The Society, Population, and Environment Program is part of both ISR’s Population Studies Center and ISR’s Survey Research Center.
